Why not join our Club?

Membership is open to the local community. If you feel that you would like to be part of your community activity in a very positive and satisfying way, then membership of The Lions Club of Glenside may be for you.

Not only will you be working for the benefit of local organisations that provide services and resources for people in need, but you will be supporting the wider activities of the prestigious Lions International organisation. You will also enjoy a wonderful social rapport with your fellow members, working together to achieve common goals and objectives.

The Club holds two dinner meetings per month on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, except for the fourth Wednesday of  December and the second Wednesday of January.

Fundraising Activities

The Club has two major fundraising sources-

• The Bookmart - temporarily closed, it will reopen on Friday 15th August 2008 at its new location in the old Tusmore Scout Hall, 4 Kennaway St., Tusmore. (For more details see the "About our Club" page.) Staffed by a wonderful group of volunteers and Club members on a roster basis the Mart sells all kinds of books and is open four days per week trading all year-round. Donations of books are always very welcome!
• The Art Show - is an annual event held in May and it has become quite famous for the quality of the works offered each year and has developed a loyal following of patrons. It trades over four days including the weekend and again is staffed by members of the Club.

Additionally, the Club supports the activities of the Lions International organisation and sells Lion Mints and the famous Lion Christmas Cakes, which are always in demand during the festive season. (Both of these products can be ordered from any member or purchased direct from the Bookmart all year round).
